In 1999 Christophe Chaudieu, founder of Easy2Ride leaves 360 International in Les Gets (created 3 years prior) , to start a new adventure in Morzine.
Why Morzine?
With the exception of Morzine, ESI (Ecole de Ski Internationale) are already present in various big resorts across France. The absence of an ESI, Morzine’s proximity to Geneva airport, and an increasing number British clientele interested in the Portes du Soleil ski area, made it the perfect opportunity to locate to Morzine.
The new team was made up of four instructors and one office member, and named themselves E2SA “Ecole Ski Snowboard & Aventures”
They had two main objectives:
Create a school with high quality service and personalised instruction by highly qualified professionals.
Recruit some of the best, fully qualified instructors around, bilingual, and not afraid of joining a new adventure.
Despite the difficulties to start up, including established and strong competition, our objectives seemed to pay off. Clients like the idea of an alternative ski school with a more personalised approach.
A traditional savoyarde town in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Morzine is dominated by chalets spread across a river gorge, bordered by partially wooded slopes allowing skiing in poor weather conditions. Situated at an altitude of 1000 m, it is one of the most northerly of the French Alpine resorts, and weatherwise benefits from the Mont Blanc microclimate. The locality enjoys panoramic mountain views and modern ski facilities, as well as hotels and restaurants in the town itself. The ski resort of Avoriaz is located on the territory of the commune.
